Porridge with fruity compote

1 Medium Apple Peeled, cored and diced | |
1 Pear Peeled, cored and diced | |
3 Large dates Cut into raisin-sized pieces | |
1Large handful Mixed dried fruit | |
1 Orange Grated zest and juice | |
1Pinch Ground cinamon | |
1Tea spoon Vanilla extract | |
1Pinch Nutmeg | |
2 Cloves |
Directions

Cook
Put all the compote ingredients into a pan and cook over a low-medium heat until the fruits are tender, about 20 minutes. Top tip: stick the cloves into a piece of orange peel to prevent them from getting lost in the mixture.

Remove the orange peel and cloves.

Combine
For the porridge, combine the oats, milk and vanilla in a pan and stir over a medium heat until smooth and thick, about 10 minutes.

Serve dish
Purée or mash the compote to the right texture for your little one, then serve the porridge with the warm winter fruit compote spooned on top.
